Best – Hairdresser Love Is In The Hair poster, canvas
Every year I go for the darshan of Khaitarabad Ganesh along with friends. We have Ganesha in a different avatar every year and I still remember the craze for Baahubali Ganesha in the recent years. Since I was a reporter in the past, I’ve even reported the event for a channel once. We used to go for the darshan, take a stroll near the tank bund with friends and then return home. I’m terribly missing all of it.
My first dance performance in life was in front of him. I’ve danced and performed for the first time in life. I used to dance in the pandals along with our gully gang. When your name is announced in the mic and you get to perform with your friends, neighbours, many girls in the neighbourhood cheering for you… I used to feel like a rockstar. Maybe that feeling also kindled my passion to be an artist.
This year, Ganesh Chaturthi has a different vibe altogether. Right from kids in the neighbourhood collecting Ganesh chanda to set up their own little pandal to the 9-feet tall Ganesh idol made in the avatar of Dhanvantari, the doctor of Gods, set up in Khairatabad as the world is facing a pandemic, a lot has changed about Ganesh Chaturthi. In a candid chat with ETimes-TV, Kalyana Vaibhogam actor VJ Sunny talks about this change, the need to act responsibly besides sharing his best Ganesh Chaturthi memories.
